If you want 85 minutes of non-stop laughter, then you should absolutely go see the new Naked Gun movie in theaters this weekend.

Directed by Akiva Schaffer, who also co-wrote the script with Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, The Naked Gun 2025 is a “legacy” sequel to the ‘80s spoof franchise starring Leslie Nielsen as a hapless detective named Frank Drebin. This time around, action star Liam Neeson stars as Lt. Frank Drebin Jr., aka Frank Drebin’s son, while Pamela Anderson stars as his femme fatale love interest. Like his father, Frank Drebin Jr. is, well, a complete buffoon. But he believes he’s the finest cop LAPD has to offer. He doesn’t play by the rules!

Like the original franchise, The Naked Gun 2025 is full to the brim with silly jokes and visual gags. Some critics are already calling it the funniest movie of the year. The 2025 The Naked Gun movie will only be available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in theaters in the U.S. on August 1. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. The Naked Gun 2025 is not yet available to watch online or on streaming.

Is the 2025 Naked Gun movie streaming on Netflix or Prime Video?

The Naked Gun 2025 is not streaming on Netflix or Prime Video, and likely will not be on Netflix any time soon, due to the fact that the film is a Paramount Pictures release. Almost all Paramount movies go to Paramount’s streaming platform, Paramount+, and not to Netflix.

You will be able to purchase The Naked Gun 2025 on Prime Video eventually, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital, but you will not be able to stream The Naked Gun 2025 on Prime Video free with a Prime subscription any time soon. If you want to watch The Naked Gun 2025 movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms, or wait for it to stream on Paramount+.

That said, we do expect to see The Naked Gun 2025 streaming on Paramount+ eventually, but we’re not sure when. Another recent Paramount film, Novocaine was released on digital platforms one month after opening in theaters, and began streaming on Paramount+ about two months after opening in theaters.

If The Naked Gun 2025 follows a similar release pattern, you might see the movie on digital around early September 2025, and streaming on Paramount+ around early October 2025.

But this is all speculation. If you want to watch The Naked Gun 2025 right away, you can catch the movie in theaters. You can also stream the 1988 Naked Gun movie on Paramount+.
