Mercury's Alyssa Thomas ties Candace Parker mark despite Fever loss

The Mercury are healthier now than they have been at any point during the 2025 WNBA season. But that is not translating into wins for Phoenix at the moment.

Following a 107-101 defeat to the Indiana Fever on Wednesday, the Mercury have dropped four of their past five games. Phoenix has been at full strength in the past four games, able to start the star trio of Kahleah Copper, Satou Sabally and Alyssa Thomas -- but the Mercury still have surrendered 89 points or more three times since the All-Star break.

Despite the Mercury's recent struggles, Phoenix's 16-10 record remains the third-best in the WNBA. And in even better news, Thomas continues to perform at an MVP-caliber level.

Thomas on Wednesday joined the legendary Candace Parker as the only players in league history to record 20-plus points, 10-plus rebounds and five or more assists in three consecutive games. Thomas reached the milestone after dropping a career-high 32 points on Wednesday, while hauling in 15 rebounds and providing seven assists.

While Minnesota's Napheesa Collier remains the favorite to win WNBA MVP, the oddsmakers have Thomas right behind her, and it's not hard to see why. In her first season with the Mercury, Thomas is leading the league in assists and enjoying arguably her best individual season, with new career-bests in points and field goal percentage.
