The Detroit Lions have seen a big of a resurgence out of tight end Sam LaPorta in recent weeks after he got off to a quiet start to the 2025 campaign.
LaPorta saw a bit of a dip in his production in 2024 following a historic rookie year, and after a solid debut in Week 1 this season, LaPorta went quiet the next three contests.
However, LaPorta has picked it up the last two games, tallying 147 yards and two touchdowns in that span.
LaPorta isn't off to an ideal start in Week 7, though. Here's what's going on.
Is Sam LaPorta playing tonight?
Yes, LaPorta is active and in the lineup, he just hasn't been targeted yet.
Jared Goff did target a tight end on the team's second drive, but that pass went to Brock Wright. That drive was also cut short thanks to a Goff fumble, so there LaPorta did have a chance to get going.
Goff has connected with Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jahmyr Gibbs, also, over the first two drives. Hopefully LaPorta gets involved soon.
