Is Rico Dowdle practicing Thursday? Latest injury update on Panthers running back

2 hours ago 2

Ahead of the Week 10 game against the New Orleans Saints, fantasy football owners and Carolina Panthers fans are holding their collective breath over running back Rico Dowdle.

That's because Dowdle, who has been on a legendary heater this season, did not take part in practice on Wednesday due to a quadriceps issue, per the team's official injury report.

However, there was at least one good sign that Dowdle's injury might not be serious, as he was taking part in some work on a side field.

Nevertheless, we're keeping track of Dowdle's Thursday practice participation in our tracker below. Keep it locked in for the latest on the Panthers' star rusher.

Is Rico Dowdle practicing Thursday?

We don't have a definitive answer to this question just yet, but it does look like Dowdle will practice.

According to ESPN's David Newton, Dowdle was taking part in team stretches and he has his helmet, two signs that he'll be active at practice on Thursday.

"Good sign? Panthers running back Rico Dowdle is stretching after working on the side Wedneaday. He now has a helmet," Newton wrote.

Any semblance of practice on Thursday would be a great sign for Dowdle's status for Week 10. We'll get his official level of participation in a little bit when the Panthers release their second injury report of the week.

This page will be updated once that information is available.

Who is Rico Dowdle's handcuff?

That would be Chuba Hubbard, the man whose job was snatched by Dowdle after Rico clearly outperformed his backfield mate.

Volume alone would put Hubbard on the RB2 map if Dowdle doesn't play.
