The Tampa Bay Buccaneers earned some headlines earlier this week when they signed the veteran Jason Pierre-Paul to their practice squad.
Would JPP be ready for Thursday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons? That wasn't very certain at the time of his signing ahead of the short Week 15 prep time.
The former New York Giants star last played in the NFL in 2023, when he suited up in a game for the New Orleans Saints and two games for the Miami Dolphins.
On Sunday, Tampa Bay lost edge rusher Haason Reddick to an ankle injury, which may have contributed to this move.
JPP may get a role sometime soon.

Is JPP playing tonight?
No, Jason Pierre-Paul is not in action tonight.
The Buccaneers didn't elevate him from the practice squad for Thursday's game.
He'll have to wait at least another week to play for the first time since 2023.
Pierre-Paul was the No. 15 overall pick by the Giants in 2010, and he won a Super Bowl with New York two seasons later.
He has 94.5 career sacks. About a third of those, 33.0, came with the Bucs when he played for Tampa Bay from 2018 through 2021 and won another Super Bowl.

The Buccaneers didn't seek to re-sign Pierre-Paul after the 2021 season.
In 2022, he played for the Baltimore Ravens and had 3.0 sacks.
Then he had that three-game cameo season in 2023, and he hasn't been on an NFL field since.
Soon, that may change for the 36-year old Pierre-Paul, but not yet.
