Popular tool Downdetector has recorded hundreds of players complaining of issues while trying to access various game modes or even logging in.
The issue is tied to the massive Microsoft Azure and AWS outage that has been reported across different platforms. As of writing, hundreds of users have reported major issues with the cloud services on Downdetector. Even the social media platform X is flooded with gamers complaining that they are unable to play many titles, including Fortnite.
The issue is particularly persistent with Xbox Cloud servers and has mostly affected Fortnite players on Xbox consoles. The official support channel for the title on the social media platform X (@FortniteStatus) has acknowledged the issue and has stated that they are actively working on a fix. They further stated that they will share an update when services have been restored.
With millions of active players grinding towards finishing their pass as Fortnitemares and Chapter 6 Season 4 draws to a close, it comes as no surprise that they are vexed at this sudden outage. Gamers will have to wait for the Azure and AWS servers to be stabilised before they enjoy the spooky map, before the Simpsons arrive in the following season.
