All eyes will be on the Dallas Mavericks' injury report due to Anthony Davis' latest injury setback. The star forward injured his groin on Christmas Day against the Golden State Warriors. Davis exited the contest after 11 minutes due to a mild strain and didn't return.

Groin injuries can be particularly challenging, especially for Davis, who has missed time due to this issue over the past 11 months. He joined the Mavericks in February while recovering from the injury and aggravated it in his franchise debut.

ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Friday that he could miss a few games, but it seems like that won't be the case. According to the Mavericks' injury report, Davis is questionable to play against the Kings.

Dallas has officially labeled his injury as a right adductor strain. There's a 50-50 chance he plays against Sacramento despite Charania's report suggesting otherwise. However, as Charania mentioned, the Mavericks will proceed with caution given Davis' injury history.

He has already missed 14 out of 30 games this year with a left calf strain. Another injury setback could be a massive blow to the Mavericks' hopes of finishing the season strong, following their 12-20 record after the loss to Golden State. Dallas is 4-12 in Davis' absence.

Anthony Davis is also reportedly a significant trade candidate, so if the Mavericks decide to move him, his health concerns might impact his value.

Anthony Davis stats vs. Sacramento Kings

Davis has averaged 21.8 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.7 blocks against the Kings in 36 appearances. He's shot 47.1% from the field, including 30.4% from 3-point range.

It should be a relatively easy game for Dallas regardless of Anthony Davis' status. The Kings are 7-23 and missing Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine, arguably their two best starters.
