Iowa high school announces conference move

The next few weeks and months could see some major changes in the landscape of Iowa high school in terms of conferences. As the Western Iowa Conference continues to look to make moves, one of its member schools has decided to leave.

Audubon High School voted unanimously at a school board meeting to accept an invitation to the Rolling Valley Conference, KMALand.com is reporting. The change is expected to begin with the 2027-28 school year.

With the addition of the Wheelers, the Rolling Valley Conference is set to include 10 schools. The league currently has Ar-We-Va, Boyer Valley, CAM, Coon Rapids-Bayard, Exira/Elk Horn-Kimballton, Glidden-Ralston, Paton-Churdan, West Harrison and Woodbine.

IKM-Manning has also received an invite to join the Rolling Valley Conference. That decision is expected to come soon.

As for the Western Iowa Conference, they sent out a series of invites to 10 schools, as Red Oak recently accepted and voted to join.
