The Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies are apparently playing an absolutely epic playoff series.
The problem is that it's not real -- but that hasn't stopped NBA fans from latching on and enjoying the ride.
Confused? Yeah, it's definitely a bit unusual.
A social media user on X, @Zinzy_js, began posting about a Warriors-Grizzlies playoff series this month as if it was really happening.
Some of the biggest accounts in basketball social media have latched on.
And for those keeping track, Wednesday night was Game 5, and the Warriors won.
This was what Overtime posted about the "game":
WARRIORS WIN GAME 5 AND TAKE 3-2 SERIES LEAD OVER THE GRIZZLIES 🚨
Steph: 33 PTS, 6/10 3PT, 4 AST
Ja: 40 PTS, 16/22 FG, 7 AST

It was already getting hyped up with pregame graphics like this one from Underdog:

Why is there a fake Warriors-Grizzlies series?
The Warriors are one of the biggest brands in basketball, but they got knocked out during the play-in tournament this year. Steph Curry is sitting at home instead of playing in the playoffs.
Ja Morant might be on his way out of Memphis, but at his peak, he had some fun battles with Curry.
And apparently, basketball fans simply can't get enough basketball.
The real playoffs are quite compelling -- 41-year old LeBron James putting the Lakers on his back, Orlando Magic chasing an 8v1 upset, Wemby being Wemby -- but there are some people who simply have all the time in their day available for hoops.
Even when it isn't real.
Will Curry close out Game 6? That's the question everyone is asking.
