Injury report: Kawhi Leonard, Luke Kornet and more ahead of Spurs vs. Clippers

The San Antonio Spurs have found their stride lately, having won six of their last seven games including a 13-point victory against the Charlotte Hornets in their last matchup.

The Spurs have another game with playoff implications Monday night, facing the Los Angeles Clippers, a team they could see in the first round of the postseason.

The Clippers had put together four consecutive wins before the Sacramento Kings snapped their streak Saturday.

Currently, the Clippers sit eighth in the Western Conference, ahead of the Golden State Warriors and Portland Trail Blazers.

San Antonio sits in second place, hoping to put pressure on the Oklahoma City Thunder for the No. 1 seed.

The Spurs currently trail the Thunder by three and a half games.

Heading into tonight's matchup, both teams are dealing with injuries.

For San Antonio, they'll be without two of their strongest bench contributors, rookie Dylan Harper and backup center Luke Kornet.

Harper has been ruled out due to a calf injury while Kornet's absence is due to knee soreness.

As for Los Angeles, they'll be without their leading scorer, Kawhi Leonard, who is dealing with an ankle injury.

With Leonard sidelined, expect Bennedict Mathurin and Darius Garland to take on more scoring responsibilities.

Since being acquired from the Indiana Pacers, Mathurin is averaging over 20 points per game, the highest mark of his career with any team.

For San Antonio, they'll likely lean on Stephon Castle to handle the ball with the second unit and could rely on Mason Plumlee to contribute in the frontcourt.
