India are all set to face off against Australia in the fourth T20I of the five-match series on Thursday, November 6. The encounter will be contested at the Carrara Oval.
The Men in Blue recently drew level in the rubber by winning the previous game in Hobart. They have a chance to ensure that they don't lose the series outright and will likely pull every string to make it happen. Changes might not be forthcoming, although a couple of places are up for grabs.
India’s T20I squad for the Australia tour: Suryakumar Yadav (captain), Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill (vice-captain), Tilak Varma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Varun Chakaravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Sanju Samson (wk), Rinku Singh, Washington Sundar.
On that note, here is India's predicted playing XI for the fourth T20I against Australia.
Openers: Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma
India v New Zealand: Final - ICC Champions Trophy 2025 - Source: GettyIndia are unlikely to make any changes to their opening combination even though Shubman Gill hasn't been at his best in recent times. He and Abhishek Sharma will want to negotiate the first few overs, where swing and seam have been on offer for the Australian seamers.
Middle Order: Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav (c), Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Washington Sundar
Asia Cup Cricket - Source: GettyChanges seem unlikely in the middle order as well. Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav and Axar Patel have been staples of the T20I side in recent times, while wicket-keeper Jitesh Sharma and all-rounder Washington Sundar played impressive cameos in the previous game.
Shivam Dube's place is under threat from Rinku Singh, with the former's three overs proving expensive in Hobart. However, he has been a consistent member of the side over the last two years and can be expected to retain his place.
Bowling coach Morne Morkel claimed that Nitish Kumar Reddy is close to full fitness, but India might not want to take many risks with other assignments on the horizon.
Lower Order: Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy

Varun Chakaravarthy is expected to lead the spin attack once again, with Kuldeep Yadav having left the tour to focus on the South Africa Tests.
