Arsenal are all set to go through a transformation under Mikel Arteta in the upcoming summer transfer window after the club endured another season without any silverware. They started the season on the right note, but gradually went off track.

Arteta is keen on making wholesale changes as he aims to pose a big challenge for the Premier League crown next season.

As the Gunners weigh different options in the transfer market, former Arsenal forward and football pundit, Ian Wright, has revealed his love affair with a rival player, whom he would love to see at Emirates Stadium.

In an analytical conversation on The Overlap [via Metro], Wright named Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes as one of the players he would love to see donning the Arsenal threads.

"I wish we had Bruno Fernandes, I wish we had Bruno. I would love to have him at Arsenal," Wright revealed.

The former Arsenal striker's comments about seeing Bruno in North London come at a time when they desperately need someone in midfield who could provide that extra bit of creativity.

The Gunners have been in the firing line with their lack of options upfront, but in the last few weeks, even Martin Odegaard was criticised for his lack of impact in games. The Danish midfielder has been a shadow of himself since returning from injury.

While, Arsenal are in a much healthier position than their rivals, Manchester United, Fernandes is one player who has maintained his consistency since joining the club in January 2020 from Sporting CP.

The Portuguese midfielder has been one of the best midfielders in the Premier League in modern times. He has played 193 Premier League matches for the Red Devils, scoring 62 goals and providing 50 assists.

In 34 league games this season, the 30-year-old has netted eight goals and provided nine assists while also creating 15 big chances. All of this while playing for a struggling United team, who are languishing in the 16th position in the Premier League standings.

Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim is all set to build a team revolving around the Portuguese midfield this summer. Also, Fernandes' current contract with the club is till 2027, and the Red Devils are in no mood to let go of their best player in recent times.
