Podcaster Candace Owens claimed that Turning Point USA made the "best decision" by not inviting her to speak at Charlie Kirk's funeral. The memorial service took place at the TPUSA headquarters in Arizona on September 21.
On October 30, Candace Owens spoke about her not being invited to speak at Charlie Kirk's memorial service. She considered it a good decision in retrospect and said on her YouTube channel:
"I've realized something actually and truly they made, in retrospect, the absolute best decision not inviting me to speak at Charlie's Memorial. Like kudos to whoever made that call, because I would have just been on my best Kanye. I would have jumped on stage and just grabbed the mic from Susie Wiles or someone. Are you kidding me? What? What is going on here?"Owens also criticized FBI director Kash Patel in her comments for their alleged official narrative, claiming she would "die of shame" if she were in his place. The podcaster also questioned why Donald Trump mentioned Brilyn Hollyhand's fourth-grade interview with Kirk in his funeral speech.
Charlie Kirk was shot dead with a single bullet on his neck on September 10, while he was addressing students at an open-air conference in Utah Valley University. A sniper shot him from the top of a roof. The conservative activist's death led to widespread mourning across the United States, with President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance also sharing their condolences.

"So what's going on regarding Kash Patel showing his face there. I legitimately do not know how these people do it. Okay? I would literally die from shame. I would pass away right immediately from shame before I would show up to that event. If I was Kash Patel. Did they breed it out? Is this a new breed of human that I don't know about, where you feel nothing, there's just nothing."Candace Owens added:
"Kash Patel, and the answer is, he shows up to work and he demands that everybody stop looking into it, because he's got it under control. He's got a very small team of people at the FBI who are allowed to touch anything pertaining to the Charlie Kirk case. Because, you know, this is transparency. Finally, the adults are in charge. It's going to be the most transparent administration ever, except on the Jeffrey Epstein stuff for the Charlie Kirk stuff, who was a friend of the administration."In her comments, Candace Owens also criticized President Trump for sharing the anecdote about Charlie Kirk interviewing a fourth-grade Hollyhand. For those unaware, Brilyn Hollyland had interviewed the conservative activist as a fourth-grade student back in 2018. The 19-year-old idolizes Kirk and is dubbed as his successor in the US.
During his speech at Kirk's memorial, Trump mentioned this interview, which Candace Owens raised an issue with in her comments. Owens claimed she was "next to" Kirk when the interview took place and said:
"When Charlie went on that fourth grader's podcast, his name was Breeland Holland, and I was next to him. It was me and Charlie, what a weird story for Trump. Trump to just obscurely pluck out of thin air to say on stage at his memorial, he wasn't there. He had nothing to do with him. The kid had some connections, and, of course, was really sweet and adorable and in fourth grade, and super polite and energetic."After Charlie Kirk's death, Donald Trump posthumously awarded him the Presidential Medal of Honor. The conservative activist is survived by his wife, Erika, and their two children.
