Anthony Edwards stood by the fans after the Timberwolves suffered a 123-107 blowout loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday. Antman participated in a postgame interview following the loss.

A reporter asked the Timberwolves star for his thoughts on how the lack of energy in the squad can be corrected. Edwards took a pragmatic approach in his answer, expressing his disappointment in the way the Timberwolves played.

"We got booed and sh*t by the fans today, I’m with the fans, I would have booed us too, but yeah, lack of energy, I don’t know what’s going on, I guess this is just Timberwolves basketball," Edwards said.

The Nets played good basketball in the first half, keeping up with the Timberwolves on the scoreboard. Minnesota entered halftime with a 63-62 lead. The third quarter swayed the game in the Nets' favor. Brooklyn came out blazing in the third and ended the quarter with a 36-23 run.

The Timberwolves were unable to close the deficit in the final quarter and suffered their second consecutive loss in a week. Anthony Edwards scored 28 points, collected seven rebounds and dished out two assists on 10 of 22 shooting from the field and two of seven from deep.

Edwards is averaging 29.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game on 49.2% shooting.

The Timberwolves looked unstoppable after they secured a 112-107 win over the OKC Thunder on Dec. 19. They went on to win two games after beating the Thunder before their hot streak came to an end on Christmas Day. The Timberwolves gave tough competition to the Denver Nuggets on Thursday, but lost the game 142-138 in overtime.

"Man, I don't know. It be the same answers every time. We gotta change something. I don't know what it is," Edwards.

Later, another reporter asked the Timberwolves star if his squad was a letdown compared to their performance in the overtime loss to the Nuggets.

"No. We gotta win this game, we just couldn't do it," he said.

The Timberwolves (20-12) have secured three wins and suffered two losses in their last five games. They are in sixth place in the Western Conference standings. Minnesota will face the Chicago Bulls as their next opponent on Monday.
