Michael Schumacher announced his retirement from F1 at the end of the 2012 season. Just a year after his retirement, the German driver was involved in a skiing accident in December 2013 and was sent into a coma as a result of the injuries.

“I think dad and me, we would understand each other now in a different way now. Simply because we speak a similar language, the language of motorsport. And that we would have so much more to talk about. That's where my head is most of the time. Thinking that it would be cool, that would be. I would give up everything just for that,” said SchumacherMick Schumacher parted ways with the Haas F1 team just after a couple of years and was signed by Mercedes as the reserve driver for 2023. Mercedes Boss Toto Wolff came out in 2023 and claimed that Mick would've been treated better if his father, Michael, was still around the paddock. The 26-year-old will make his IndyCar debut for RLL in 2026.
