“I won’t use the word cheating but they’re not doing enough” - Roy Keane slams Manchester United star after 2-1 loss to Aston Villa

Roy Keane didn't hold back in his assessment of Manchester United's 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa, with Diogo Dalot catching a stray when Keane claimed there are 'too many players' who 'just don't do enough.'

Two goals from Morgan Rogers, which arrived either side of Matheus Cunha’s equalizer, handed Manchester United their fifth league defeat of the campaign.

During his punditry duties on Sky Sports, Keane criticized Manchester United's lack of intensity and singled out Dalot for his role in the defeat.

"You can have all the talent in the world," the United legend began. "We've mentioned it time and time again but you've got to roll your sleeves up and when the game gets a bit tight there's moments where you go, 'I'm just going to do my bit for the team. "There's too many players, like Dalot, that just don't do enough.

Dalot, along with his teammate Leny Yoro, was repeatedly put through his paces, with fans criticizing the latter for his display after the match. Keane continued:

"I won't use the word cheating but they're not just doing enough. And after the game I'd be looking at him - I wouldn't be looking at other bits of the game. Same for the first goal when Rogers gets the ball wide. We're all sitting there and we know there's danger. Do they not know there's danger?"

While Yoro was culpable for Villa's two goals, Dalot should have done better for Villa’s second, with the Portuguese failing to prevent Youri Tielemans from digging out a cross.

Gary Neville blames Manchester United star for 'big mistake' after 2-1 defeat to Villa

Like Keane, Gary Neville also pointed fingers after United's 2-1 defeat, with the former defender blaming Leny Yoro for Villa's opener. The France international was easily drifted past by Rogers before the ball ended up in the top corner.

"That is so, so special. So, so good from Morgan Rogers," Neville noted when reviewing the opening strike. "John McGinn fires it into him after a little wrestle with Luke Shaw and I just thought, as Yoro doesn't go and close him down on that first touch… he ambles, Manchester United's right centre-back. "I thought, 'Uh oh, you could be in trouble here', because Rogers can do that. There's no doubt Leny Yoro has to get out quicker, he has to make sure confronts him outside the box. "But once doesn't, Rogers still has a lot to do and my goodness me does he do it! I've played that position and when you play against a special player you have to edge over, if the touch is off you need to get out close and harass him, you can't drift. He just ambled, Yoro, which was a big mistake."

Manchester United sit seventh in the table and are 13 points behind leaders Arsenal heading into Christmas. They will face Newcastle United next on Boxing Day.
