Kevin Durant got engaged at an early age, in 2013, to former WNBA player Monika Wright. The Houston Rockets star was just 25 years old. A year later, the couple broke off the engagement, because he "didn't love her the right way." Since then, KD has neither made his romantic relationships public nor shown a willingness for a long-term commitment.
On Thursday, the Rockets' superstar appeared on Bobbi Althoff's podcast. While speaking about kids and marriage, Durant said that he never wanted to get married. Althoff asked the NBA star if he would be willing to marry if the woman signed a prenup.
"That's not really a prenup, though. I mean you still have to, when you walk away, at least give something," KD said.•

Kevin Durant admitted that he couldn't fathom spending the rest of his life with the same person.

"It's like the word marriage, like what the relationship is, like do I want to be with this somebody every day and hang out with the same person every day." "I think divorce is more of a realistic cuz the divorce percentage is higher."He was not sure if he wanted a child, but also didn't want it in a traditional way through a lifelong marriage.
Althoff also asked Kevin Durant if he would get married just as a celebration and without signing any marriage papers.
"I have never really dreamt of having a wedding day. ...When I got to the wedding, it's like 'oh it's dope' [but]...it's not like a need to happen in my mind. But [wedding] is still a cool event."Kevin Durant recounts his mom's "fire" slaps growing up
Kevin Durant has credited his mother for raising him in the right way. During his MVP speech years ago, the 2x NBA champion got emotional as he declared her the "real MVP" while recounting his mom's sacrifices.
While Wanda Durant didn't think twice before prioritizing her son, she didn't shy away from showing her tough side. During the interview, the Houston Rockets star recounted getting slapped by his mother when just a young boy.
"She would slap the fire out of me," Durant said. "My mom's slaps were ridiculous. ...cuz she would get in my face and like then out of nowhere she would like pushback like non-offensive then [she would suddenly slap me]. She had quick reflex."The NBA superstar also added that his mother took a different approach to address his misbehavior in public. He said that she would use the "secondary option" and pinch his skin to make him behave.
