John Terry has heaped praise on Chelsea's summer signing Joao Pedro. He said that he is impressed by how the Brazilian trains and added that he's had a good start for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
The Blues signed Pedro from Brighton & Hove Albion for a reported fee of £60 million. He started by scoring three goals in three appearances for them at the FIFA Club World Cup. Overall, he's scored seven goals and provided three assists in 17 games across competitions for the club.
Chelsea legend John Terry recently appeared on The Obi One Podcast and praised Joao Pedro, saying:
"You look at Joao Pedro, he wouldn’t have been top of my list, but he’s been great so far. He’s had a really good start to his Chelsea career and I think a lot of strikers come in and don’t get off to the start that he’s got off too so I’m delighted for him. "I think he’s been really, really good. And also, I see him train and the boys tell me he’s unbelievable in training as well. So I like the way he trains, his whole demeanour, and he’s scoring goals, which I love," he added.Pedro scored in consecutive games against Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League before the international break.
John Terry lauds Chelsea star's performance in win over Wolves
The former England centre-back also praised Alejandro Garnacho's performance in Chelsea's 3-0 win over Wolves at Stamford Bridge on November 8. The Argentine winger provided two assists, completed 35/38 passes, completed 1/2 dribble attempts, and attempted 3 shots (via SofaScore).
Sharing his thoughts on Garnacho's performance, Terry said:
"I also want to touch on how good Garnacho was yesterday. Absolutely petrifying as a defender when you’re facing someone that quick and that direct. He gives us something the other wingers don’t as well. "That’s what you want to see as a Chelsea fan players like that beating players. It doesn’t always have to be with loads of skill. You can knock it past people when you’re that quick and put crosses in the box and make it difficult for defenders. I’m delighted with that."The Blues signed Garnacho from Manchester United in the summer for a reported fee of £40 million. He has scored two goals and provided two assists in 10 games across competitions this season.
The west London side, meanwhile, are third in the Premier League standings, six points behind leaders Arsenal. They will next face Burnley away on November 22.
