Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a heartwarming message to Portugal U15 star Laurindo Mendonça. The teenager's documentary aired on Canal 11 on Tuesday, December 23, after his rise in youth football.

On Instagram, Canal 11 posted a clip from Mendonça's documentary, in which he received a message from Ronaldo. The Al-Nassr captain took to the comments section to send the teenager another message, and it read:

"Congratulations on this milestone, Lau. I'm rooting for you!"

Ronaldo has been following the Portugal youth sides closely this year, as his son has been making it through the ranks. Cristiano Jr. debuted for the Under-16 side during the Federation Cup Tournament in October and November.

The former Manchester United forward has spoken about his son becoming a footballer in the future, saying that he would never push him to pursue the same career. He believes that the teenager should choose what makes him happy and said on Georgina Rodriguez's Netflix series 'I Am Georgina' (via The Sun):

"Only time will tell. I will never pressure him. He will do what he wants. Also what I want the most for Cristianito and everyone else is that they're happy and that they choose what they want. I will support in any way."

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr scored his first goal for the Under-16 side during their 3-0 win over Wales in November.

Cristiano Ronaldo wants to play with his son in the Portugal national team

Cristiano Ronaldo spoke about his son's progress in youth football earlier this year, admitting that he dreams of sharing the Portugal national team dressing room with him. He hopes to be fit enough to represent the side when his son makes it and told Telefoot:

"I would like to play with my 14-year-old son, but we'll see, it depends more on me than on him. When the next World Cup comes around, if I'm still physically and mentally fit and if the national team needs my services, I'll be available for that." "I could leave my career today and I wouldn't regret anything, but it would be a shame because I'm still very good, I'm still making a difference. I would leave saying 'I can still make a difference for another year or two', that's why I live a lot in the present and I can't think long term."

Cristiano Ronaldo has since confirmed that the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be his final edition of the tournament.
