It appears Jorge Masvidal is hoping to make his MMA return on the highly anticipated UFC White House card, and is pulling out all the stops to make that dream a reality.

In 2019, Masvidal essentially propelled himself as one of the top stars of the promotion after his viral flying knee KO over Ben Askren. Thereafter, he claimed the inaugural BMF title in a slug fest with Nate Diaz at UFC 244, which fetched him back-to-back title shots against Kamaru Usman.

'Gamebred' retired from the sport in 2023 after a four-fight skid. While the 40-year-old has teased a return to MMA a couple of times since then, his conviction has never been as strong as it is now.

Speaking to Henry Cejudo on an episode of Death Row MMA, Masvidal stated that he even called the U.S. president, Donald Trump, to try and secure a spot on the White House card:

"Your boy's been training, I tell you that much, man. Been like two, three months now on it, you know? And I'm on that f**king June card. Out calling [Donald] Trump, calling everybody. You've got to get me on this s**t. So, I'm just staying focused, staying in shape, brother. Hopefully, everything works out."

The Miami native seems to want Leon Edwards as a potential opponent, so that they can finally settle unfinished business from their infamous backstage altercation at UFC London 2019:

"Leon don't got the belt no more, but I still always want to fight Leon, you know? Just because we got all that history and stuff. I've never had any ill will towards Leon. I've always said it, and I still don't got ill will towards Leon, but I would still love to punch him in the face and just settle all that s**t you know, and let him try to get his shots in as well."

Jorge Masvidal might end his MMA retirement for good if he wins at UFC White House

For Jorge Masvidal, a potential MMA return at UFC Whit House may not be a one-off deal. If he is successful at the historic event, 'Gamebred' might consider ending his retirement for good.

Talking to Henry Cejudo on Death Row MMA, the former BMF champion came clean about his intentions, noting that it would be too enticing not to make a proper return to MMA if he dominates in his next fight:

"I'm like, man, I'mma roll the dice. I got this one. I'mma keep rolling. Yo, keep rolling. I'll bet the whole rent money on it... If I get the chance to be in the White House, everything works out well, my hand is raised, it's hard to say, do I stop now or f**k it, we go, we just roll the dice again, you know?"
