“I love you more each passing year” - KL Rahul’s cute wish with candid snaps on Athiya Shetty’s 33rd birthday [In Pictures]

Team India star KL Rahul wished wife Athiya Shetty on her birthday by uploading some adorable pictures of them on his official Instagram handle. It coincides with his good friend Virat Kohli's special day as well.

The keeper-batter married Athiya, the daughter of Bollywood star Suniel Shetty, in January 2023 after dating for over three years. Married for more than two years now, Athiya regularly comes to stadiums to cheer her husband during matches, notably during the 2023 World Cup final against Australia in Ahmedabad.

With Athiya turning 33 on November 5, the Karnakata-born cricketer took to Instagram and wrote:

"Happy birthday to my best friend, wifey, lover, stress ball, goofball 💕 I love you more each passing year."

Athiya made her acting debut in the 2015 film Hero and appeared alongside Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Illeana D'Cruz in Mubarakan two years later.

KL Rahul to feature in the two-Test series against South Africa

On the cricketing side of things, KL Rahul's next appearance for India will be during the two-Test series against South Africa, beginning on November 14 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Before that, the elegant right-hander will feature in the second unofficial Test between India A and South Africa A, starting on November 6 in Bengaluru. The hosts picked up a tense three-wicket win in the opening match as comeback man Rishabh Pant hit 90 in the fourth innings to help them chase down 275.

Rahul, meanwhile, couldn't quite make a big score in the recent ODI series against Australia, managing scores of 11 and 38 in his two outings. But he had a productive home Test series against the West Indies, peeling off a fifty and a hundred as India won 2-0.

Shubman Gill and Co. would hope to beat the Proteas by the same margin in the upcoming series.
