Donald Trump became the first sitting U.S. president in nearly half a century to attend a regular-season NFL game. He was in attendance at Northwest Stadium as the Detroit Lions defeated the Washington Commanders on Sunday. Reports have emerged about Trump's desire to have the Commanders' planned $4 billion stadium named after him. It is set to be built on the former RFK Stadium site.
Jones added that wanting a stadium named after oneself shouldn't be something to aspire. He cited RFK Stadium in Washington and the old John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia, which were named in honor of politicians who were assassinated. Jones joked that having a stadium named after someone usually means tragedy struck and warned that it’s better not to wish for such a legacy.
