Manel Kape ended the ESPN era of the UFC with a KO win over Brandon Royval. The victory came in the first round, with just three minutes left on the clock.
Kape beating the former UFC flyweight challenger could put him in line for a title shot. The title changed hands last weekend when Joshua Van got the win after Alexandre Pantoja injured himself just a few seconds into the round.
Kape, while speaking to Michael Bisping, first thanked those who helped him and also explained how religion had done the same for him.
He then called out Van in with a weird message as he wanted to fight for the belt:

“You have my belt, if I didn’t break my foot in July I’ll be the champion right now. Now baby, listen very well, I am here, your daddy, your daddy gonna take your diapers alive on the new deal, paramount deal. I am going to take your diapers alive.”Kape then shared when he was willing to fight and was ready to face the champion wherever possible:
“Let’s fight in Houston, in February or whenever you want.”

Dana White plotting next title fight without Alexandre Pantoja
Alexandre Pantoja was the champion coming into UFC 323. However, his freak injury seems to have ruled him out for a while.
Dana White, while speaking to the media after UFC 323, claimed that Pantoja would not be in the title scene anytime soon:
"They popped his shoulder back in. I thought it was the elbow. No, it was not his elbow, it was his shoulder... Now they've got to do the MRIs, and check out the ligaments, and see how it is. So, we don't have a time frame on how long he'll be out. No matter what happens, listen, I'm not a doctor or anything, but I don't see him coming back anytime soon. I think there will be a [title] defense before he comes back. I think he's going to need some time."Van might have a quick turnaround, given that he didn’t sustain any damage in the fight. Kape’s win over Royval should put him firmly in the title scene.
