On December 21, BTS held a full-group live on Weverse, but one comment quickly changed the narrative. During the 45-minute broadcast, the members spoke about recording sessions, shared time together, and year-end plans, before RM voiced a wish for more "affection" from HYBE.

🐯 Everyone, there's not much time left until the new year.🐨 Is it finally coming? 2026?🐱 Is something big coming?🐨 Please come!🐹 Time passes too slowly.🐨 Really please! Please!🐿️ I can't believe 2025 is passed.🐰 I wish next spring would come already.🐥 These periods are annoying, I have to say. It's not easy.🐨 I wish our company would have some more affection for us.🐥 🤣🤣🐿️ Why why? What's the reason?🐨 I don't usually say things like this.🐱 Does our company not have affection for us?🐹 They're always doing stuff for us.🐨 I don't know, I'd just like them to hug/embrace us a bit more.🐹 With that hug/embrace in mind, Weverse gave us this🐱 A trophy to commemorate 30 million [subscribers].🐨 That was a smooth progression.

The BTS leader noted he rarely makes such remarks. Meanwhile, other members reacted with light laughter. The moment spread quickly online, and clips gained traction, with many users asking HYBE to do "better."

Many expressed concern and argued that the comment reflected ongoing issues in how BTS’ career has been handled.

HYBE and BIGHIT seriously needs to pull out all the stops in supporting and promoting BTS’ upcoming comeback @BIGHIT_MUSIC @HYBEOFFICIALtwt

thank you namjoon for the honesty.i've been saying it,hybe has been short-changing BTS. they've been lazzzy & sloppy with anything BTS yet they keep milking them for money. that company isn't giving the group that built them their best and can't even treat them well as humans😤

You are the company that manages the greatest artists in the whole world and you treat them like this?Sometimes I see BH/Hybe like a bunch of amateurs. Or idiots.

Others said RM’s words were taken out of context. They explained that he was simply asking viewers to either let the members share spoilers when they are ready or stop pressing them for details. According to fans, the septet is trying hard to keep certain plans secret.

My take is that they're not happy that they haven't released much this year. Also, BH has now 3 active groups and I assume the staff has not grown proportionally (like in all companies). So maybe they're getting less attention than before? Speak up, Joonie, and they'll fix it.

context does matter bcoz RM’s comment abt wish co love us more is bcoz they made them wait until 2026 to begin activities he’s as impatient as we are😭

My take on Joon's "I wish our company would have some more affection for us" was that he was referring to the cb timeline. Frm their various welives, we've seen how excited they're abt the cb, n how they can't wait to release the album, n how they're commenting again n again +that they wish the spring would come earlier. BTS is so impatient to release the album, but Hybe/BH would hv their own timeline for the cb to ensure everything will run smoothly. So, Joon was most likely joking that he wished Hybe/BH would follow BTS desire to release everything+early, so that BTS n ARMY could enjoy the album as soon as possible.

BTS' RM previosuly addressed boundaries & comeback pressure during the Weverse livestream

A late-night solo livestream by RM on Weverse on December 7, 2025, KST quickly drew fan notice. As the live progressed, RM was repeatedly met with questions about other BTS members. In response, Namjoon openly asked viewers to stop bringing up the rest of the group during his individual livestream.

He admitted the situation felt upsetting and stressed that each member could host their own broadcasts if they wished. To avoid confusion, he repeated the same point in English, reinforcing his position clearly. RM suggested the reaction came from long-standing expectations placed on him to speak for everyone. He used the moment to explain how his role has shifted over time.

According to him, all seven members have grown into distinct individuals with personal limits and different lifestyles. Because of that change, the 31-year-old said he could no longer act as the group’s sole voice like he once did. Online reactions were divided. Some netizens interpreted the remarks as a subtle reference to recent issues involving fellow members, particularly Jungkook.

Many fans instead viewed it as RM drawing a boundary and reminding audiences that each member has a separate life and schedule. The livestream did not stop there. While discussing the group’s future, RM addressed criticism that BTS had not released full group content in 2025, despite all members having completed their military service.

He explained that the group maintains strict standards for their music and only releases work they fully stand behind. RM also revealed that comeback talks once included discussions about a possible hiatus or even disbandment. The members ultimately chose to continue because of their bond and their attachment to fans.

The artist further noted changes within the label’s structure, saying he now operates as an employee within a publicly listed company and cannot bypass the larger system even if he wants to move faster. The heavy tone of the broadcast left many fans concerned about the pressure facing RM and the group. However, many also criticized his live, for which he later apologized in a message posted on Weverse.

Fans’ expectations are high as BTS is set to make a comeback in spring 2026 after almost four years. They are also said to launch a massive 65-show world tour the same year.
