WWE veteran Ric Flair was advertised for a major appearance tonight at the AEW Blood and Guts show in Greensboro. However, he missed it. A few days ago, it was announced that WWE legends Ricky Steamboat and The Nature Boy would appear at the special episode of Dynamite. The latter even addressed his return on social media a couple of days ago.

Shockingly, only Ricky showed up. He did a brief interview with Tony Schiavone and was later interrupted by FTR. The former AEW World Tag Team Champions then tried to insult the legend. The duo even went on to attack Steamboat. Fortunately, FTR's Full Gear opponent, Brodido, made the save for the Hall of Famer.

Fans in the arena were also waiting for Ric Flair's appearance, but the veteran wasn't seen. Many are concerned about him since the star didn't make it to the show.

Ric Flair claimed to stay in AEW after Sting's retirement

The WWE Hall of Famer was brought in as a surprise for Sting ahead of his retirement. The Nature Boy made occasional TV appearances with The Icon. However, after the latter hung up his boots, Ric Flair was also rarely seen in AEW.

However, while speaking with the Wrestling Classic, the WWE legend said that he would stay with the Jacksonville-based promotion even after the former AEW World Tag Team Champion's retirement, because he is good friends with AEW President Tony Khan.

“I’ve known Tony [Khan] for a long time, we’ve been great friends. And the opportunity just presented itself, probably because of Sting. But I’ll be there a couple of years after Sting is gone too. I don’t know what it leads to. I’d like to manage my son-in-law [Andrade El Idolo]. Obviously, I want to be a heel again somewhere,” he said.

Many are wondering what led to the sudden changes in the segment during the Blood and Guts episode.
