More than five years removed from his final game as a member of the Patriots, Tom Brady is still making history.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion will become the first New England player to be honored with a bronze statue. A special ceremony will be held on Friday before the preseason game between the Patriots and Commanders, revealing a statue that even Brady himself has not yet seen.
Brady certainly earned his status as a New England legend, winning six of his seven titles with the Pats and setting several franchise records on his way to a Hall of Fame career. Now, the greatest QB of all time will be immortalized in front of Gillette Stadium.

The statue unveiling will air locally on WBZ-TV and can be streamed on Fubo.

When is Tom Brady statue unveiling? Date, time for ceremony

The statue unveiling is scheduled to begin 6 p.m. ET on Friday, Aug. 8. The ceremony will be held outside of Gillette Stadium near the Patriots Hall of Fame.
The preseason game between the Patriots and Commanders will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET.
What will happen at the Tom Brady statue unveiling?
Patriots owner Robert Kraft will serve as the host for the statue unveiling, which is expected to last for approximately 15-20 minutes. Kraft will reveal the 12-foot likeness of Brady, giving Pats fans and media members a first glimpse of the statue. Brady will also address the crowd and take photos with the statue.
Gates will open at 5 p.m. ET in order to allow fans to watch the ceremony on video boards inside of Gillette Stadium.
