Once in the Haunted Castle, the enemies you can defeat to farm Nightmare Catchers are Reborn Skeletons and Living Zombies.

Reborn Skeletons are level 1,975 enemies, who drop Bones alongside Nightmare Catchers. Living Zombies, the other source of the crafting material, are slightly stronger than Reborn Skeletons, being level 2,000 enemies.

Both of these sources have a chance of dropping the crafting material, and you may only receive one Nightmare Catcher at a time by defeating them. Since you only need four Nightmare Catchers in a single playthrough, picking the easier enemies to farm would be a more practical farming strategy.

You need one Nightmare Catcher, along with 6,000 Fragments and five Ectoplasm to upgrade Pain and get the Torment Conductor skill. With three Nightmare Catchers, 9,500 Fragments, and five Ectoplasm, you can upgrade it to receive the Spectral Assimilation move.
