Begin your expedition and go on about killing ARC enemies and looting these zones. Both of these activities can drop you some Medium Gun Parts.

Alternatively, you can go to the Traders tab and visit Celeste. She will sell you 3x Medium Gun Parts per day for 15 seeds each. This is a guaranteed way of obtaining the parts, and you can collect them regularly as long as you have enough seeds to pay Celeste with.
