Because three Yankees who might not have been on the team if Juan Soto was still wearing pinstripes all came through Sunday night with big performances in the rubber game against Soto’s Mets.

Cody Bellinger had a two-run double and a grand-slam as part of a six-RBI game, Paul Goldschmidt was on base twice, scored two runs and delivered a key RBI single to pad an eighth-inning lead and Max Fried pitched like an ace again over the first six innings of an 8-2 victory to close out the Subway Series.
