How Rogers twins Tyler, Taylor are related but also so different for Blue Jays, Twins

1 hour ago 3

The Rogers twins are one of the rarest MLB feats -- twin brothers in the major leagues.

But when you consider the entirety of who Tyler Rogers (Toronto Blue Jays) and Taylor Rogers (Minnesota Twins) are, it's even more unbelievable.

The thing is, they may be twin brothers, but on a baseball field, they're nothing alike.

They get to play a series against one another this weekend, and that's a good excuse to think about the wildness of this a little more.

How Tyler, Taylor Rogers are related but different

The Rogers twin brothers were both born on December 17, 1990. That means they'll be 35 years old for the entirety of the 2026 MLB season.

Tyler pitches for the Blue Jays, and he's a submarining right-hander.

Taylor pitches for the Twins, and he's an over-the-top left-hander.

If you put their release points on a clock, they'd likely be just about opposite one another -- Tyler from pretty darn close to the '6' with his right arm, Taylor pretty darn close to the '12' with his left arm.

And because brothers are competitive:

  • Tyler has a career 2.72 ERA.
  • Taylor has a career 3.34 ERA.

Taylor does have more saves in his career, though. Teams rarely let a submariner like Tyler be their final option in a bullpen.

Taylor has also made one All-Star team, while Tyler hasn't made one.

It's amazing enough that they're both big league pitchers.

When you watch them throw, it's even more amazing that they're twin brothers.
