The fans at Fenway Park got to enjoy quite the weekend.
The Boston Red Sox hosted the New York Yankees for a four-game rivalry series, and it was the home team that won all four games. The series sweep continues what is the first hot streak of the season for the Red Sox.
Things started off miserably this season for Boston, and the Red Sox are still just 36-46.
This is the kind of weekend, though, that can help a team start to find some belief.
It's about a month until the trade deadline, and so they'll have to stay hot to avoid being sellers. But right now, they're in a much better place than they were at the start of June.
The big credit goes to the pitching. Sonny Gray took a no-hitter into the eighth inning on Sunday night.
It was just the latest stellar outing on the mound. Boston's starters have put together 11 consecutive quality starts -- at least six innings while allowing no more than three runs.
According to MLB.com, Red Sox starting pitchers in that 11-game span have a 1.51 ERA.
They needed more than Gray on Sunday night, though. The Yankees forced extra innings, and then scored two in the top of the 10th.
No problem: The Red Sox scored three in the bottom of the 10th.

Jarren Duran delivered the walk-off hit in a 5-4 victory.
“It meant a lot,” Duran said postgame, via MLB.com. “I feel like I've let this team down a lot this year, and that moment felt like I let a little bit off my shoulders. So, it was a pretty good feeling.”
There's still plenty for the Red Sox to figure out, and this still could be a team that started a bit too much in a rut to fully dig itself out.
But there's nothing better in Boston than a sweep of the Yankees. The arrow, for the first time all season, appears to be pointing up.
