Sydney Sweeney was just 20 years old when she filmed the Euphoria pilot, the actress revealed while discussing the long-awaited Season 3.

Speaking to Variety on October 26, 2025, at the AFI Fest premiere of her new drama Christy, Sweeney said that she will wrap up filming season 3 in two days. Talking about her return to the HBO series after a three-year gap, she said,

"It’s mostly the same crew, so it feels like I’m going home to family. I’ve grown up with them."

Her comments are one of the first public confirmations that filming on Euphoria Season 3 is nearing completion. The HBO show, which quickly caught attention for its portrayal of teenage chaos and trauma, began shooting earlier in 2025 in Los Angeles after multiple pandemic and production delays.

Euphoria season 3 filming close to completion

According to Variety, Sydney Sweeney and her co-stars are now wrapping up production on what HBO has previously indicated could be the show’s final season. When asked about the possibility of a fourth, Sweeney chose to neither confirm nor deny

"I cannot confirm any information"

Fellow cast member Jacob Elordi offered his own vague update days earlier, telling Variety at the Academy Museum Gala that filming Season 3 was “incredibly liberating.”

Elordi credited creator Sam Levinson for constructing something “clever and cinematic” that viewers will “really like.” Still, Elordi admitted that he doesn’t know what happens in other storylines, saying

"It’s like FBI files."

Sweeney, for her part, said she’s excited to experience the new season like a fan. Speaking to Variety, she said,

“I feel like I’m going to get to watch it with everyone else."

HBO has confirmed that Euphoria will return in spring 2026, following multiple postponements caused by strikes, the deaths of actor Angus Cloud and producer Kevin Turen, and the cast’s packed schedules.

What to expect from Season 3 of Euphoria

ELLE reported on October 23, 2025, that filming for Season 3 officially began in February in Los Angeles, marking the show’s long-awaited return after a four-year hiatus.

The returning cast includes Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, Colman Domingo, Eric Dane, Jacob Elordi, and Sydney Sweeney, with Martha Kelly and Chloe Cherry promoted to series regulars. New faces joining the ensemble include Rosalía, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Marshawn Lynch, and Asante Blackk, among others.

Rosalía has joined the cast of ‘EUPHORIA’ Season 3.

The upcoming season will reportedly feature a time jump, moving the story beyond high school. Levinson previously told ELLE in 2023 that the third season will take a “film noir” approach, focusing on Rue’s (Zendaya) struggle to live “with principles in a corrupt world.”

Zendaya also told The Hollywood Reporter that she’s excited to explore Rue’s sobriety journey and how the characters handle life after graduation, as reported by ELLE.

Sydney Sweeney described the new season as “unhinged” in an interview with Empire in May 2025, saying

"Cassie is crazy, she makes mistakes, but it’s all from a place of love. Sam [Levinson] and I kept pushing to go crazier, and this season is unhinged.”

Leaked photos from April 2025 even showed her in a wedding gown labeled “C&N,” sparking speculation about a Cassie–Nate wedding storyline.

At the time of press, there are no updates about an expected release date for Euphoria season 3.
