After an offseason like no other, the WNBA is back in action. We're still about a week away from the start of the regular season, but the stars are already out on the floor, basking in the spotlight as they ready themselves for another push toward the WNBA crown.
The Fever and Wings are the latest sides to take the floor, jousting with one another in their preseason opener on Thursday night. It might be a tune-up, but eyes will be fixed on the television as they take the court. After all, Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers are playing.
Clark endured an injury-riddled sophomore campaign, appearing in just 13 games. Indiana found success in her absence, falling one game short of the WNBA Finals as Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston earned All-WNBA honors.
The Fever will hope to take another step forward in 2026. Clark is healthy once more, having captured MVP honors during FIBA's World Cup qualifying tournament in March. If she can find a similar level of play in the postseason, she could add more hardware to her collection.
The Sporting News is tracking Clark's stats from Indiana's preseason opener against the Wings. Follow below for the numbers — and highlights — from Clark's first game of the year.
