The Washington Commanders hosted the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9's edition of "Sunday Night Football." It was a game that Seattle dominated, with the Seahawks taking a 31-7 lead into halftime.
While Seattle's lead, offensive firepower and defensive presence were the story early, that all changed in the fourth quarter. Even though the Commanders were down 38-7 at the time, Washington's starting quarterback, Jayden Daniels, was still in the game. He was trying to lead a scoring drive to salvage some pride when he was slung down during a sack and landed awkwardly. His arm bent in a direction it shouldn't have, and he was in immense pain.
Here's a look at how long Daniels could be sidelined for Washington with his injury.

Daniels was playing in the fourth quarter of what was looking like a blowout loss to the Seahawks. The Washington quarterback had his offense in the red zone in a goal-to-go situation. Daniels went to scramble, but got slung down to the ground. His arm got trapped on the ground and bent awkwardly in a gruesome injury.

— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) November 3, 2025After the game, head coach Dan Quinn said that Daniels suffered a left elbow injury. He wouldn't provide any other details and said that he expected to have an update on Monday.
According to Nicki Jhabvala, the Commanders did not place Daniels on IR, which leaves open the possibility of his return this season, for the time being. If Daniels' dislocation is "truly a simple dislocation without fractures," then the decision to not put him on IR was "expected," Jhabvala reported.
