John Elway’s longtime agent and close friend, Jeff Sperbeck, is being remembered after tragically passing away in a golf cart accident.

Jeff’s son, Jackson Sperbeck, shared a sad, but sweet tribute on Instagram Sunday, May 18, posting a collection of photos celebrating his father’s life.

“Your footsteps gave me direction. I’ll walk the rest with purpose. I love you dad,” Jackson wrote in the caption of the carousel, which featured moments of his father with his family and friends.

Jeff, 62, passed away last month after a fall from a golf cart reportedly driven by Elway in a luxury golf community in La Quinta, California. The fall, which occurred after a post-Stagecoach gathering on April 26, resulted in a traumatic brain injury. According to TMZ, who broke the story, he was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support, with doctors keeping him alive to donate his organs.

Elway, 62, publicly mourned the loss of his friend, expressing the deep sadness he felt after losing someone who had been so significant in his life. In a statement, Elway shared, "There are no words to truly express the profound sadness I feel with the sudden loss of someone who has meant so much to me."
