LeBron James' future has yet to be decided.
There's a fascinating factor in play that might keep him with the Los Angeles Lakers beyond this season, though: golf.
James' contract with the Lakers is up at the end of this season, but ESPN's Dave McMenamin and Tim Bontemps report in a new article that the King and the Lakers would be open to reuniting for another season, if the contract makes sense.
And one of the reasons James might want to do it? His burgeoning love for the links.
"Another motivator, mentioned to ESPN by several league sources when asked to assess James' situation, can't be overlooked: It's hard to beat Southern California's year-round climate and golf courses to fuel his growing obsession," the ESPN insiders write.

They had already listed off some of the other reasons James might want to stick with the Lakers, too.
"His wife, Savannah, and 11-year-old daughter, Zhuri, live with him in his recently renovated Brentwood estate," ESPN's duo writes. "Bronny has a partially guaranteed contract with the Lakers next season. And his other son, Bryce, plays basketball at the University of Arizona, a short flight away. The offices for Klutch Sports and Uninterrupted, run by his close friends and business partners, Paul and Maverick Carter, are in Los Angeles."
Earlier this season, the Lakers' lineups with James, Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves were encountering some unexpected struggles.
Lately, the Lakers have hit their stride. James has figured out how to fill his role as he becomes less of the primary option, and Los Angeles looks like a team that could make noise in the postseason.
Maybe the simplest thing for James to do, if he doesn't retire, will be to stay right where he is.
And if he does that, there'll be plenty of golf to play, too.
