No one expected there to be any Dame Time this season.
But it's All-Star Saturday Night, and Lillard will be on the court representing the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA's 3-Point Contest.
When the news came out about a week ago, it was quite surprising. Lillard is recovering from a torn Achilles.
But there he'll be, letting it fly, that historically great shooting stroke back on the floor for fans to enjoy.

How is Damian Lillard in the 3-Point Contest?
Lillard evidently is far enough along in his rehab to feel comfortable getting on the court and shooting.
He tore his Achilles in the first round of the 2025 playoffs.
It's been more than nine months since then, so Lillard's healing process is likely mostly complete.
There likely won't be a way to tell that Lillard is still recovering. It's probably only in the highest-octane jumps and cuts that are still risky on the Achilles.

Damian Lillard's 3-Point Contest history
Lillard is a two-time 3-point champion in the All-Star festivities.
He's trying to become the third three-time champion. Larry Bird and Craig Hodges are the only two players to have won the competition three times up to this point.
Lillard isn't the first contest entrant without a made 3 in that season, though.
Lithuania's Rimas Kurtinaitis competed in 1989, and he never played an NBA game, according to ESPN.
Kurtinaitis didn't win, though. Lillard will try to claim a victory that he's quite used to.
