Shakira accidentally spilled Rihanna’s pregnancy news during a 2025 Met Gala red carpet interview Monday.
When the “Whenever, Wherever” singer, 48, was asked who she was “most excited to see” at the event, she immediately name-dropped her fellow Grammy winner.
“Rihanna, I want to see her,” Shakira gushed to NBC Los Angeles in a now-viral video. “I want to see her so bad.
“And I just heard the news, too,” she continued, only for the reporter to ask what she was talking about.
“She’s pregnant!” the Colombian superstar replied — then covered her face with her gloved hands with a horrified expression.

“Am I not supposed to say that?” she asked.
However, Shakira and the journalist laughed off the slip-up before she walked off in her Prabal Gurung gown.
The “Hips Don’t Lie” performer strutted her stuff on the red carpet in a bubblegum pink ensemble, while Rihanna, 37, put her baby bump on display in a Marc Jacobs suit dress.
The “Umbrella” singer revealed shortly before the star-studded event that she and her boyfriend, A$AP Rocky, are expecting baby No. 3.
She was photographed outside of New York City’s Carlyle Hotel in a gray skirt-set, which showed her budding belly, and a source subsequently confirmed the pregnancy to Page Six.
Rihanna gave fans another look at her stomach with a daring afterparty look featuring a laced-up skirt and an unbuttoned top.
The Fenty Beauty founder and Rocky, 36, are already the parents of sons RZA, 2, and Riot, 1.
The longtime friends began dating in 2019, with Rihanna telling British Vogue the following year that she wanted “three or four” children.
Shakira, for her part, shares sons Milan, 12, and Sasha, 10, with her ex Gerard Piqué.
