Simone Biles made a show-stopping appearance at the 2025 Kentucky Derby over the weekend, turning heads in a glamorous lilac ensemble.
Accompanied by her husband, Jonathan Owens, Biles joined a star-studded crowd that included celebs like Chris Tucker, Star Jones, and Selma Blair for the highly anticipated race day.
For the occasion, the 28-year-old opted for a striking lilac minidress, adorned with shimmering crystals, perfectly embodying the Kentucky Derby’s signature pastel theme. Obviously, her outfit had an iconic hat to match – a known tradition of the event. Her outfit wasn’t complete without a shoutout to her NFL player husband, as the athlete wore a necklace with his last name.
The athlete posted a series of snaps to her Instagram on Sunday, May 4, which racked up a ton of comments from fans who let her know just how good she looked.
“this face card is to go to war for,” one fan wrote, while another declared, “Giving real southern belle.”
A third exclaimed, “I fear this exact shade of purple was made for you and you ONLY.”
Owens, 29, understood the purple memo as well, coordinating with his wife and wearing an abstract, lilac jacket with a liquified pattern – matching hat atop his head.
But Biles wasn’t at the event purely for fun, she also had an important role on Saturday, May 3. The Olympian performed the famous “Riders Up” call, which signals the jockeys to climb aboard their horses.
