There's never been a question as to Kon Knueppel's ability to shoot the basketball.

The Charlotte Hornets rookie showed it off on Wednesday matched up against the greatest shooter ever, Stephen Curry.

These were Knueppel's final stats in a seven-point loss to the Warriors:

  • 20 points
  • 7-11 FG
  • 4-7 3FG
  • 2-2 FT
  • 5 rebounds
  • 8 assists

With that, Knueppel broke the NBA record for games as a rookie with 20 points on 50/40/90 shooting.

The mark was previously held by Curry.

Real Sports shared that stat on New Year's Eve:

Kon Knueppel now has the most games by a rookie in NBA history with 20+ PTS on 50/40/90%.

Knueppel has been everything the Hornets could've wanted this season and then some.

He's proven that he'll be a dynamic force in the NBA for a long time.

And to break a shooting record previously held by Curry? It doesn't get much better than that.
