Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett is one sack away from breaking the NFL’s single-season record. Garrett enters Sunday’s home finale with 22 sacks, needing a half-sack to tie and one full sack to surpass the record held by Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Strahan (2001) and T.J. Watt (2021).
Garrett said doing it against Aaron Rodgers would be “special.”
"[Rodgers is] legendary himself, and it's a legendary record I'm here chasing," Garrett told ESPN on Friday. "That'd be a great one to put a picture on the wall with."•

Fans reacted to Myles Garrett's statement. Some joked about when Michael Strahan broke the single-season sack record (22.5) after sacking Brett Favre in the final week of the 2001 season. On that play, Favre allegedly slid early instead of trying to evade Strahan.

"As Garrett gets his sack, his team sucks and will be staying home for the playoffs...again...while Rodgers and the Steelers will be playing meaningful football in 2 weeks," another user wrote.@AdamSchefter @DanielOyefusi As Garrett gets his sack, his team sucks and will be staying home for the playoffs...again...while Rodgers and the Steelers will be playing meaningful football in 2 weeks.
Garrett has not sacked Rodgers in two career games, including a Week 6 loss earlier this season. However, he has dominated Pittsburgh at home, recording five sacks in the Browns’ last two home games against the Steelers, both of which were wins.
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin reflects on Myles Garrett's challenge ahead of Steelers-Browns game
Ahead of Sunday's game against the Browns, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin admitted that Garrett has been a problem for their team at the Browns' home stadium.
"Myles Garrett has certainly been an issue for us in that venue," Tomlin said. "I think he's had five sacks against us in our last two trips, neither of which we won. And so we understand the gravity of what we're going into and how they engineer victory and who's significant in doing so. He's at the doorstep of history, and so we certainly have respect for that."Myles Garrett leads the NFL with 22 sacks, along with 32 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles.
