"It's a tough thing to sustain. And sometimes, something goes your way. Sometimes you score a touchdown, and they call a phantom face mask. There's lots of things that happen, and it happens to every team, not just, you know, but it's a game of inches."

The play happened in the final minute of the first half. Kelce took a direct shotgun snap and ran four yards into the end zone. Officials threw a flag on Chiefs right tackle Jawaan Taylor for a facemask penalty on Indianpolis linebacker Kwity Paye.

Replays showed Taylor got his hand on the side of Paye's helmet but did not grab the facemask.

Kansas City won 23-20 in overtime.

Kansas City had a disappointing performance on Sunday at Nissan Stadium. The Titans snapped an 11-game home losing streak with a dominant win over the Chiefs.

The Sporting News' Vinnie Iyer wrote after the loss that retirement should be an easy decision for Travis Kelce. Patrick Mahomes is out and likely won't return for Week 1 next season. The tight end has a wedding with Taylor Swift planned for June and is headed for his third consecutive season with fewer than 1,000 yards.

Kansas City managed just 133 yards of offense and nine first downs against Tennessee. Gardner Minshew started at quarterback but left in the second quarter with a knee injury.
