Denzel Washington’s heated exchange with a photographer on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in France has been decoded by a professional lip reader.

The two-time Oscar winner, 70, attended the world premiere of Spike Lee’s “Highest 2 Lowest” Monday, but his glamorous outing was overshadowed by an intense disagreement that saw him lose his cool.

The Hollywood star looked fired up when he approached the line of shutterbugs — before pointing his finger in the face of one of the snappers.

Expert lip reader Jeremy Freeman has since decoded the fiery exchange, telling the Daily Mail that Washington lashed out after a photographer touched his arm.

“Hey, one — one more time, stop,” the actor told the snapper, according to Freeman.

“Let me tell you — stop, stop — never put your hands on me again,” he continued to shout. “I’m talking to you, stop, all right.”

The lip reader said that the photographer responded to the actor, saying, “Not allowed,” before cracking a smile.

Moments later, the snapper can be seen grabbing Washington’s arm once more, before asking, “Can I take a picture?”

At that point, the actor appeared visibly flustered as he yelled, “Stop, stop it, stop it. I mean it. Stop, stop it.”

Despite the heated exchange, the photographer and his colleagues all appeared to be smiling at the bizarre interaction.

The Post has reached out to Washington’s reps for comment.

Moments before the ordeal, Washington was talking to Lee, 68, and rapper A$AP Rocky, 36, who also stars in the film.

The heated exchange didn’t appear to dampen his spirits, as Washington was seen beaming from ear to ear later in the evening when he was surprised with an honorary Palme d’Or award, given to him by Lee.

“This is my brother right here. I love him, I love him. I’m glad you’re here where all the people love you too,” Lee said while giving Washington the coveted award.

“This is a total surprise for me so I’m a little emotional, but from the bottom of my heart, I thank you all,” the actor said in response. “It was a great opportunity to collaborate with my brother once again — brother from another mother, Spike.”

“To be here once again in Cannes, you know, we’re a very privileged group in this room that we get to make movies and wear tuxedos and nice clothes and dress up and get paid for it as well,” he quipped.

“You know, we’re just blessed beyond measure, I’m blessed beyond measure, and from the bottom of my heart, I thank you all. Thank you.”
