AEW star Keith Lee's comeback still seems far away as a new update emerged. He has been absent for over two years. He was pulled off the TV ahead of the 2023 Worlds End pay-per-view due to an undisclosed injury. He even underwent surgery in January 2024, but no confirmed news has been reported so far.
Last year, the former AEW World Tag Team Champion hinted at returning to the Jacksonville-based promotion. Last year, he claimed he was cleared for action, but a return was not in his control. Many have been wondering since then when he will make a comeback, as he appeared to have been medically fit for a while. However, it seems like things aren't working in his favour.
According to PWInsider's Mike Johnson, Keith Lee remains medically unfit and has not been cleared. The report also suggested that a timeline regarding his return has not been mentioned.
Veteran calls out AEW for Keith Lee's absence
Many fans assumed the Limitless star was fine and ready to return when he hinted along such lines last year. A veteran even criticised Tony Khan for not booking the powerhouse.
While speaking on the Coach and Bro Live, Vince Russo said AEW should use Keith if he is cleared to step in the ring, as he is under contract.
"How many times are we reading every single week that somebody's sitting on the sidelines? They don't know why they are sitting on the sidelines. They are healthy. Keith Lee said that he is perfectly healthy. He's been healthy for three months. 'I'm under contract, and nobody is calling me.' That's why you would create a group like The Oddities, man. If somebody's under contract and you're paying them, get them on the show!" Russo said.It will be interesting to see when the former AEW World Tag Team Champion will return to television.
