Heartbreaking footage surfaces: Kevin Owens at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event

Kevin Owens was one of many WWE Superstars present at Saturday Night's Main Event to watch John Cena's final match. A heartbreaking footage from SNME has surfaced online showing Owens soaking in the end of Cena's legendary career.

On December 13, Cena tapped out to Gunther in his retirement match. The result has left a ton of WWE fans unhappy, which gave The Ring General a lot of nuclear heat a couple of days later on RAW.

While most fans were too busy being upset, Kevin Owens was caught on camera watching the video package prepared by WWE after his match ended. Uploaded by the Haroon Twins on Facebook, KO can be seen appreciating the tribute to Cena.

Owens was wearing a yellow "The Last Time Is Now" shirt from Wrestlepalooza. Before the match, Cena dapped and hugged KO at ringside, along with other WWE legends, superstars, and for some reason, Elias, who sneaked into the crowd.

Kevin Owens has been out since April due to a neck injury, and his return remains up in the air after undergoing surgery. Owens' first feud on the main roster was against John Cena, who put over the then-NXT Champion in their first match against each other at Elimination Chamber 2015.

Kevin Owens to have new role in WWE while recovering from injury

Despite his injury, Kevin Owens will have a new role in WWE amid his recovery. Owens will be one of the new mentors for the upcoming third season of WWE LFT. KO and Natalya have been added to the cast, replacing The Undertaker and Michelle McCool, as per PW Insider.

The filming of the third season is reportedly underway in Florida, with Owens and Natalya joining other mentors, Booker T and Bubba Ray Dudley. It's a great way to use KO while he's on the shelf. He gets to impart his knowledge and experience to the next generation of WWE Superstars.

There's still no scheduled date of when Season 3 will air on A&E.
