"He's washed," "Time to retire": NFL fans rip Aaron Rodgers over atrocious 2-INT performance in Steelers' loss to Chargers

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers had a disappointing outing on Sunday against Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers. The four-time NFL MVP completed 16 of 31 passes for 161 yards and one touchdown passing. Rodgers also threw interceptions, raising questions about his future in the league.

After the disappointing loss, fans on social media heavily criticized the 41-year-old veteran quarterback and stated that he should hang up his cleats.

"It's time for Aaron Rodgers to retire," one fan commented.

"Aaron Rodgers is washed and should've retired when he left the Packers," another fan said. "Aaron Rodgers better go to his little retreat tomorrow and rethink what he did tonight," this fan stated. "Aaron Rodgers gotta hang it up. That was the WORSR performance I ever seen from him," this fan wrote. "Aaron Rodgers playing like Kenny Shitkett today. Never seen him be this bad in his 20 years. Pathetic," another fan said. "Aaron Rodgers should retire now and not let Arthur Smith continue to ruin him," one fan said. "HANG IT UP RODGERS AND RETIRE," this fan commented.

After 18 seasons and a Super Bowl championship with the Packers, Rodgers was traded to the Jets in April 2023. However, he missed out on the entirety of his debut campaign in New York after rupturing his Achilles tendon during their season opener against the Buffalo Bills.

The veteran returned as the QB1 in 2024, but could only muster a 5-12 record with the team. The Jets then parted ways with him, after which he signed a one-year deal with the Steelers in June.

So far in nine games, Rodgers has helped the Steelers to a 5-4 campaign after Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Apart from him, they have Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson and Will Howard on the quarterback depth chart.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin was visibly unhappy with Aaron Rodgers' performance against the Chargers

In the post-game press conference, Mike Tomlin was asked to give his assessment of the four-time NFL MVP's performance against Jim Harbaugh's team. The Steelers coach had a visibly disappointed expression on his face and decided to skip the question with just a three-word message.

"How would you? Next." Tomlin said.

If the Steelers want to retain their top spot in the AFC North, they need to find a way to win games on the field. The Baltimore Ravens are closing in on them following their victory over the Vikings and a three-game winning streak.
