Jim Ross has reacted after a major star announced that he will be leaving WWE. Ross, currently working for All Elite Wrestling (AEW), shared his thoughts on the recent development that caused a stir.

A few days ago, Hardcore legend Mick Foley took to Instagram to announce that he was parting ways with WWE and won't be making any appearances for them, given their close association with U.S. President Donald Trump. This was after he raised his voice against Trump's comments over the passing of filmmaker Rob Reiner.

Foley said that these comments were the last straw, as he had also been against the actions of the Trump administration against immigrants. The former WWE Champion disclosed that he won't be signing a new contract with the promotion after his current Legends deal expires next June.

On his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross opened up on what Foley's exit would mean for the company. He said even though nobody in the promotion will be worried with this, they should be careful.

“If he said he’s done, he’s done. So I don’t think anybody at WWE would lose any significant sleep over it, but they might. They should. He’s a valuable asset, but in any event, you never know how it’s going to end up at the end of the day. But I know that what he said, he meant. What he said, he meant. He’s very disillusioned with the WWE’s support of Trump. But he joins a lot of people. Because, you know, Trump’s not the most popular guy," he said.

In his post on social media, Foley also mentioned that he doesn't wish to represent the Stamford-based promotion as long as Trump stays in office.

Jim Ross shared his thoughts on WWE's relationship with Donald Trump

The connection between WWE and Donald Trump goes way back. WrestleMania IV was held at the Trump Plaza in Atlantic City.

This association has only strengthened since Trump was elected as President for a second time. Sharing his view on this dynamic, Jim Ross said it was just posturing and talked about Triple H being at the White House.

He said it's a good thing if you are invited and it makes a good contact.

Trump has appeared on WWE TV and featured in the Battle of Billionaires against Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 23. Recently, during his second term as U.S. President, WWE has developed a closer relationship with him.
