Reigning ONE flyweight MMA world champion Yuya Wakamatsu of Japan knows he cannot put his guard down even for a split second against Joshua Pacio.
'Little Piranha's' first world title defense is set at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri on Nov. 16 in the familiar grounds of Ariake Arena in Tokyo.
But it won’t be a walk in the park since he’ll have to face the undisputed ONE strawweight MMA kingpin, who’s seeking a historic two-division glory.
Wakamatsu understands that Pacio carries the weight of an entire nation on his shoulders. The proud Filipino warrior has been tested time and time again in the home of martial arts, but has come out stronger each time.

The 30-year-old Japanese star told South China Morning Post (SCMP):
"Pacio is someone who really represents the country, you know, he is fighting for his country, the Philippines. I really feel that. And also as a fighter, Joshua has everything – he is an all-around fighter who can do the striking, grappling as well, and Joshua has strong power in his hands as well. He has good eyes, he's a very dangerous fighter."Watch the full SCMP interview:
