A new piece of information about Terry Rozier has surfaced online, which has the fans trolling him online. On Wednesday, ESPN reported that Rozier owed $8.2 million in taxes. He was hit with a tax lien in 2023, the same year he was accused of being involved in an insider sports betting scheme.

The Miami Heat guard was arrested on Thursday in Orlando, Florida, for being a suspect in a federal investigation. He is currently on an indefinite leave from the league.

Terry Rozier's attorney says tax lien was resolved

After ESPN reported on Terry Rozier's $8 million tax lien, the Heat guard's attorney, Jim Trusty, stepped up to clear the air on the matter. He revealed in a email to Associated Press that Rozier never owed anyone $8 million.

"There was never a debt of $8 million,” Trusty wrote. “Out of his total taxes owed in 2021 ($8m) he actually owed $9000. That was paid but the now-defunct lien still needs to be pulled from the local courthouse."

The lien is a publicly available record, and as of now there is no publically available record showing that the lien has been removed.

Some reports earlier in the week revealed that Terry Rozier was set to receive his full salary while being absent from the league. However, new reports from AP reveal that the Heat guard will not receive the money due during his leave.
