• Maybe the most gut-wrenching part of this story is the fact that the kitty is continuing to claw at you. He must have been so, so concerned about you. For a cat who doesn't do this normally to feel the need to hurt you for hours on end, trying to get your attention, to get you to notice that something is wrong, must have been something so disorienting to do. He was terrified that something was going to happen to you. And it seems like, to an extent, he still is. He needs you, he loves you, and it is both beautiful and emotional and also so, so sad. We hope that you will get as healthy as you can and that you will live a long, long life, both for you and for your cat.

• He may not have known that he was saving your life then, but that is exactly what he did. We're glad that you understand it. We're glad that you're no longer mad at him, and that you're not upset with him for continuing to be concerned now, pawing at you the way that he is. We hope that you gave him treats for the whole thing.
